Performance Test Engineer Expert

The Digital Engagement Solutions (DES) Tribe within Group Digital Capabilities (GDS) Division is responsible for delivering reliable and stable front-end services and products to Euroclear clients, enabling activity monitoring, reporting, and transaction execution. DES Environment Squad is dedicated to maintaining the stability, availability, and continuous improvement of the environments supporting our applications. Key responsibilities include: Driving ongoing improvements across test and production environments Ensuring the availability and maintenance of test and development environments Providing environment-related support to projects Managing and maintaining deployment pipelines Supporting release activities, including performance testing and deployments The role: We are seeking a Tester having extensive experience in performance testing methodologies, tools, and techniques to ensure the scalability, reliability, and responsiveness of our software applications. The Performance Tester will collaborate with development teams to identify performance bottlenecks, analyze system performance metrics, and recommend optimizations to enhance the overall performance of our applications. Responsibilities: Develop performance test strategies and plans based on project requirements and application architecture. Design, develop, execute, and maintain performance test scripts using industry-standard tools such as ReadyAPI, LoadRunner or similar. Conduct load, stress, and endurance testing to evaluate the performance of web applications, APIs, and backend systems. Monitor system performance metrics during test execution, analyze test results, and identify performance bottlenecks and areas for improvement. Create comprehensive performance test reports and documentation, including test plans, test cases, test results, and recommendations for performance improvements. Collaborate with the QA team to understand project requirements and translate them into automated test cases and scenarios. Knows principles of Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint demos. Continuously research and implement best practices, tools, and techniques for performance testing to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. There may also be an opportunity to provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members of the different Tribes (tool onboarding), fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Requirements: Proven experience of at least 8 years as a Performance Tester or Performance Engineer, with a strong background in performance testing methodologies and tools Proficiency in performance testing tools such as ReaduAPI, JMeter, LoadRunner Understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and practices (Software Test Life Cycle). Hands-on experience with performance monitoring and profiling tools to analyze system performance metrics. Solid understanding of web technologies, protocols, and architectures (HTTP, REST, SOAP, TCP/IP, etc.). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex performance issues and recommend effective solutions. Experience with API testing tools, particularly ReadyAPI, for testing RESTful services and web APIs. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in Agile development environments. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex automation scripts. Strong communication, advisory and persuasion skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Autonomous, self-motivated and proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and tools in the field of test automation. Preferred Qualifications (Nice to have) Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB Certified Tester) or relevant professional certifications. Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools like Jenkins or Azure DevOps. Familiarity with version control systems for code management and collaboration. Experience in performance testing using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner or equivalent. Experience with DynaTrace and Splunk.
