Java Tech Lead with SRE / DevOps Miejsce pracy: Kraków Technologies we use Expected Java Spring Boot Maven PostgreSQL JPA Hibernate Docker Kubernetes AWS Terraform Jenkins Groovy About the project We are seeking a Java Tech Lead with a strong focus on backend development and intermediate experience in SRE/DevOps. In this role, you will be hands-on with development, mentor a team of engineers, and support their professional growth. You will collaborate closely with Principal Engineers, other Tech Leads, and the Head of Engineering to develop and maintain backend systems, ensuring high engineering standards. Your responsibilities Hands-on backend development using Java and related technologies Mentor and support the professional growth of engineers Collaborate with Principal Engineers, Tech Leads, and the Head of Engineering Develop and maintain backend systems to high engineering standards Apply TDD, Clean Code, SOLID principles, and GoF Design Patterns Design and review code architectures (Layered, Hexagonal), system architectures (Modular Monolith, Microservices), and APIs Work with databases (RDBMS, NoSQL), ensuring data consistency, sharding, and replication Implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies Ensure observability, resilience, scalability, and security of systems Utilize AWS services (EKS, EC2, ECR, ECS, Lambda, S3, Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB, etc.) Apply intermediate SRE/DevOps practices (Jenkins, Groovy, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker) Lead technical decision-making, document decisions, and foster a high-trust, accountable team culture Track goals/OKRs, delegate and prioritize tasks effectively Our requirements 5 years of experience in backend software engineering Proven track record of delivering complex, large-scale software systems Strong knowledge of Java 17/21, Spring Boot 3.x, Maven, PostgreSQL, JPA/Hibernate Experience with AWS cloud services and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) Intermediate experience in SRE/DevOps practices and tools Familiarity with CI/CD, system design, testing strategies, and deployment automation Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders Results-oriented, with a history of delivering against KPIs and improving DORA metrics Ability to mentor, empower, and build trust within engineering teams Familiarity with technical leadership practices, process automation, and SDLC processes This is how we organize our work This is how we work agile This is how we work on a project Continuous Deployment Continuous Integration What we offer We are open to the employment form according to your preferences (b2b or contract of employment) Work with experienced and engaged team, willing to learn, share knowledge and open for growth and new ideas Hybrid working system - 2 days per week from the office in Kraków and 3 days per week remote Mindbox is a dynamically growing IT company, but still not a large one – everybody can have a real impact on where we are going next We invest in developing skills and abilities of our employees We have attractive benefits and provide all the tools required for work f.e. computer Interpolska Health Care, Multisport, Warta Insurance, training platform (Sages) Benefits sharing the costs of sports activities private medical care sharing the costs of professional training & courses life insurance If these details sound interesting to you and you're eager to gain new experience in the global arena, we invite you to apply.
