Accounting Specialist for US GAAP Compliance

Job Overview: As a Statutory Reporting Accountant, you will assist the Chief Accountant in directing and controlling all financial accounting processes to ensure compliance with relevant Huntsman policies & procedures, US GAAP, and statutory requirements.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare yearly statutory annual accounts for entities in scope and align with external auditors, adhering to legal requirements.
  • Support the Tax department with Corporate Income Tax calculation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls for key accounting processes on a quarterly basis.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • Closely monitor month-end closing activities for responsible entities, including revaluation and exchange difference analysis.
  • Prepare and execute monthly reporting activities, delivering high-quality results.
  • Analyze, reconcile, and control General Ledger accounts and cost centers, including Payroll accounting.
  • Address ad-hoc issues and participate in projects as required.
  • Develop and implement SOX control activities and statistical reporting.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Suggest proposals for improving systems and procedures, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Hold excellent communication skills and a solution-focused approach.
  • Possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, preferably a Master's degree.
  • Bring at least 5 years of accounting experience (GL or RtR) from an international environment.
  • Have experience in preparing annual financial statements, with partial experience being acceptable.
  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the English language.
  • Knowledge of another language is considered an asset.
  • Show strong communication skills for interacting with people across different locations and levels within the organization.
  • Display a service-oriented mindset.
  • Exhibit excellent analytical skills.

  • Embody a proactive attitude.
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
  • Display good organizational skills.
