Financial Controller

Join RWS, a leading provider of technology-enabled language, content, and intellectual property services, as a Financial Controller in our Poland office. As a key member of our Operational Finance team, you will play a crucial role in improving our ability to deliver accurate and timely information, driving business insight, and supporting our growth strategy.

As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the financial control of our Polish operations, accurate reporting, applying appropriate financial controls, and ad-hoc analysis. You will work closely with our tax team and external service providers to ensure timely reporting and compliance with VAT, CIT, and statutory accounts. Your expertise will be essential in managing and coordinating effective external audits, cash flow management, and application of financial controls in the Polish branch.

• Full ownership and accountability for the financial accounting and reporting for the Polish entity
• Cooperation with the tax team and external service providers to ensure reporting and compliance on time of VAT, CIT, and statutory accounts
• Managing and coordinating effective external audits
• Cash flow management, effective cooperation with the payment department
• Application of appropriate financial controls in the Polish branch, including review and approval of payroll, monitoring Accountants work in relation to reimbursement requests and locally required documentation
• Oversight of the Accountants work in updating the local accounting software
• To ensure that it is accurate, timely and compliant monthly reporting and closing processes
• Analysis of results within management accounts
• Implementation, approval and monitoring of balance sheet arrangements
• Reporting to the Central Statistical Office (Główny Urząd Statystyczny), NBP

We are looking for a qualified accountant with 5+ years of experience in a finance function operating in a senior financial role, including European finance experience. You should have a strong understanding of corporation tax requirements and accounting, as well as experience of consolidated accounting under Polish GAAP. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills are essential, along with strong influencing skills and attention to detail.
