Job Description:

We seek a skilled Network Engineer Tier II to join our Global Network operations team. This role offers opportunities for growth and development within a managed services organization, working independently and collaboratively with a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve complex network issues through advanced diagnostic techniques and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Circuit Issue Resolution: Collaborate with telecommunication providers to resolve circuit-related issues.
  • Vendor Management: Triaging configuration, hardware, and software issues with multiple vendors.
  • Escalation SME: Manage critical network issues, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Project Support: Contribute to network projects across multiple business units, focusing on Wi-Fi design and implementation, and maintaining accurate network documentation.
  • Mentorship: Guide junior engineers and assist customers with escalated issues.

Requirements:

  • Certifications: Beneficial for certifications like Cisco CCNP.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven knowledge of network architecture, routing and switching protocols, security, and high-level design.
  • Complex Issue Resolution: Expertise in resolving intricate network problems using in-depth analysis and advanced diagnostics.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience with Layer 2 Switching protocols and 5+ years of experience with Layer 3 Routing protocols.
  • Vendor Familiarity: Experience working with major vendors, including Cisco, HP, Aruba, Juniper, and Arista.
  • Infrastructure Understanding: Comprehension of Enterprise Network Design, infrastructure, operational, and IT managed service (ITSM) best practices.
  • Technology Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of technologies like RSTP/MSTP, VLAN, VTP, ARP, OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, UDP, NDP, VxLAN, VRRP, EtherChannel in a global enterprise environment.
  • Protocols Knowledge: Familiarity with application protocols such as SNMP, telnet, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, DHCP, DHCPv6, DNS, 802.1x, and IPsec.
  • Wi-Fi Expertise: Significant experience with Wi-Fi design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Configuring Equipment: Capability to configure and troubleshoot routing and switching equipment.
  • Linux Operating System: Proficiency in Linux, with scripting experience being desirable.
  • Dual Stack Experience: Familiarity with IPv4 and IPv6 in a dual stack setup is a bonus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Holding a Cisco CCIE, Juniper JNCIE, or specialized certification in network security or cloud networking is advantageous.
  • Scripting Skills: Experience with Python and Bash scripting.
  • International Experience: Experience working globally within enterprise environments.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on details, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly when interacting with customers.
  • Mentoring Abilities: Desire to mentor junior engineers, fostering their growth and professional development.
