About the Role

As a Data Modelling Specialist in our Treasury Analytics team, you will play a crucial role in building new and future-proof modelling solutions. Our Global Finance function aims to be the best finance function in the financial services industry, delivering powerful insights to our customers and supporting HSBC's businesses to deliver our strategy.

We are seeking an individual with a solid background in Python programming and experience in analytics, preferably in risk modelling, stress testing, forecasting, or similar fields for a banking organization. You will work closely with our Financial Engineering and IT teams to contribute to the development of the One Treasury Platform and other initiatives related to forecasting, flow analytics, and core calculations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop prepayment/pipeline models for mortgage products using statistical modelling and machine learning techniques to hedge risk and assess IRRBB risk metrics.
  • Design behavioural models for different products to assess IRRBB risk metrics and work together with our stakeholders to ensure model fit-for-purpose.
  • Contribute to the improvement of existing models through assessment of impact, model validation, and documentation of changes.
  • Coordinate projects focusing on ensuring consistency across sites and identifying areas for efficiency improvements, automation, and enhanced controls in existing processes.
