This role involves working with our team to gather and analyze metrics from various SQL environments, identify inefficiencies, and introduce improvements. You will assist teams in adopting database best practices and support the introduction of new features. Additionally, you will help plan out our overall database roadmap, working with a mix of on-premises and cloud databases.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyze metrics from multiple SQL environments to identify areas for improvement
  • Assist teams in adopting database best practices and introduce new features
  • Plan and implement database roadmaps, including on-premises and cloud databases
  • Evaluate and propose new data storage technologies, introducing tooling and best practices around these
  • Engage in infrastructure maintenance and research new technologies to solve complex problems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills (C#, Java, C++, Python)
  • Expertise in SQL databases, schema design, application development, optimizations, monitoring, and management
  • Familiarity with database performance analysis, query plans, indexes, and DB table design best practices
  • Cloud database experience (e.g., Azure SQL Managed Instances)
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working across departments and stakeholders
