Senior Business Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join our team at EPAM Systems. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in communicating with clients to understand project requirements, evaluating current processes for improvements, and documenting specific requirements based on clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Elicit and document business requirements through various techniques
  • Define business goals, needs, and objectives
  • Analyze data to ensure features align with product goals, needs, and objectives
  • Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements
  • Create epics, use cases, and user stories based on selected BA documents structure
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, SMEs, development, and QA teams
  • Plan the business analysis approach on the project
  • Assume the Scrum Master role if needed
  • Conduct technical interviews for BA positions
  • Mentor and coach other BAs in the organization
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of relevant BA experience
  • Experience in creating different types of requirements
  • Ability to identify inconsistencies in project requirements
  • Experience in working with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) or classic ones (e.g., Waterfall)
  • Ability to plan the business analysis approach on the project and facilitate related communication
  • Ability to create/adapt a set of templates to be used in the project
  • Experience in creating diagrams (UML, BPMN)
  • Understanding and ability to propose suitable software development processes and influence/enhance it
  • Ability to effectively manage the scope of requirements within the project (communicate to stakeholders potential scope creep and manage such risk)
  • Ability to support solution testing/UAT
  • General knowledge about UX/UI and the ability to take part in designing activities
  • Ability to coach/mentor others and relevant experience
  • Self-managing skills, ability to take full responsibility for a subsystem or a whole project, work without supervision
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members in complex environments (multi-cultural/multi-country/geographically distributed team) and customer representatives
  • English, at least at a C1 level. Comfortably able to read, write, and speak with customers; able to write high-quality, unambiguous texts
Nice to Have:
  • Engineering or computer science education background
  • Skills in facilitating requirements estimation process at each project stage like RFP. Able to effectively use multiple estimation approaches
  • Experience in SQL
  • Certification in areas of Business Analysis, Scrum Master, or Product Owner
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Visio
