At Webologix Ltd, we are seeking a skilled Mobile DevOps Specialist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience with developing and releasing applications in the Android ecosystem, as well as strong DevOps skills.

Responsibilities
  • We are looking for a passionate and self-motivated individual who can identify, design & build automated solutions to existing manual processes.
  • The successful candidate will monitor, maintain & extend the existing in-house Mobile CI pipeline (Jenkins & Vagrant) & related services.
  • They will help to triage build Mobile CI pipeline failures in the Americas time zone.
  • The candidate will participate in building & configuration of automated tooling/reporting.
  • They will be responsible for building & extending our custom tooling (Python) to fuel productivity throughout the mobile teams.
  • The Mobile DevOps Specialist will define dashboards to monitor production services.
  • They will configure, alter and monitor on live systems.
  • The candidate will be involved in incident management and supporting production systems.
  • They will provide support to the development teams.
  • The Mobile DevOps Specialist will ensure that the mobile services conform to controls.
  • They will actively participate in the Mobile Engineering Discipline and associated communities.
  • The candidate will expand the CI capability.
  • They will manage our in-house CI service, built on top of Jenkins.
  • The successful candidate will support procurement of external services.
  • They will build tooling to support automated app releases.
  • The Mobile DevOps Specialist will build custom tooling for our development teams.
  • They will engage with the development teams to identify common problems and solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Prior knowledge of developing and releasing applications in the Android ecosystem is required.
  • Kotlin knowledge is a must-have, alongside DevOps skills.
  • The successful candidate will have mastery of Android SDK, different Android versions, and handling various screen sizes.
  • Experience with background processing, multi-threading, and asynchronous programming in Android is necessary.
  • Knowledge of Android's location and mapping capabilities is required.
  • Familiarity with integrating third-party libraries is expected.
  • Understanding of Android's permissions model and runtime permissions is essential.
  • Experience with Android NDK and native code integration (C/C++) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Gradle build system and dependency management is necessary.
  • A good understanding of Android development and the Android ecosystem is required.
  • Proficiency in Java and Kotlin programming languages is expected.
  • Solid experience in a Mobile Engineering environment is necessary.
  • Hands-on experience with the continuous delivery of Mobile applications is required.
  • Collaborating across teams is expected.
  • Knowledge of AWS for DevOps, basic services & concepts is preferred.
  • Exposure to monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, or Prometheus is an asset.
  • Knowledge of JVM (memory spaces) is required.
  • Working knowledge of Python & Java, Bash scripting is necessary.
  • Understanding of API Security is essential.
  • Performance testing is required.
