Electrical Systems Program Manager Position

We are seeking an experienced R&D project manager to lead our HVDC team at Hitachi Energy in Kraków. As an Electrical Systems Program Manager, you will be responsible for driving the development of innovative solutions for HVDC applications and collaborating with a talented team of engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute R&D projects in alignment with our portfolio management, working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Design and implement detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, and resource allocation plans; monitor progress against project milestones and budgets.
  • Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with implementing new solutions, developing risk management plans and strategies to respond to emerging issues.
  • Drive requirements analysis, pre-studies, solution development, and documentation of results in the projects.
  • Maintain quality, learning from experiences, and contributing to process improvements as part of the R&D Project Management Office.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • University degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or related fields.
  • Over 5 years of experience in leading product development projects in high-voltage, high-power applications, MV drives, or similar areas.
  • Proven ability to manage scope definition, budget estimation, and planning for multiple R&D projects.
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed teams in a global environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, being a good team player, structured, open-minded, communicative, and comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in English as we operate in an international setting where knowledge exchange is key.
