About the Role

We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer to join our dynamic team at Backbase. As a key member of our Scrum-oriented development team, you will be responsible for driving testing processes and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products.

In this role, you will work closely with the product owner and developers in refinement, estimation, planning, standups, and retrospectives. You will also contribute to creating CI/CD jobs and pipelines according to the SDLC process.

Your passion for quality should extend beyond scripting simple manual or automated tests. You must have an eye for detail and be able to articulate your approach to non-technical stakeholders.

You understand the value of collaboration and soliciting opinions and approaches that may differ from yours. You are ready to pick up and enhance existing automated and manual tests that cover functional and non-functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute manual and automated tests that cover functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Work in a hybrid environment, spending 2 days per week in the office.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure quality deliverables.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvement to the team and the wider Backbase community.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience with test automation (backend, frontend, end-to-end).
  • Good development skills understanding Java and/or TypeScript.
  • Knowledge of REST, SOAP, API, and automated testing tools (e.g., Playwright or Cypress).
  • Experience with continuous integration tools like GitHub Actions.
