The role of a Senior Cyber and Information Security Engineer III involves supporting the information security and systems teams through managing information security technologies and responding to support requests. This position requires collaboration with multiple technologies to implement, monitor, and maintain solutions that meet Westinghouse's Information Security Mission and Primary Objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for primary support and oversight of Microsoft Sentinel SIEM, including deployments into segregated networks and periodic technology upgrades.
  • Support for Westinghouse's Enterprise SIEM in a hybrid on-premises and cloud network configuration, including installations, upgrades, and end-to-end problem identification and remediation. Familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel and Azure is preferred. Maintaining the Microsoft Sentinel solution, including deployment of Sentinel in hybrid on-premises and Azure networks, using Log Analytics Gateway architecture, including CEF and Syslog adapter servers in the Sentinel ecosystem.
  • Configuration, parsing, and building data collection rules (DCRs) in the Sentinel environment.
  • Utilization of KQL at a level necessary to onboard new log sources and troubleshoot log-related issues in the Sentinel SIEM solution.
  • Review, analysis, and documentation of current information security solutions and capabilities to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Familiarity with antivirus/anti-malware and EDR tooling as well as threat detection techniques. Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud Apps, Defender for Identity, and Purview is beneficial.
  • Analysis of information security application and system events and logs to ensure availability and management of information security technologies and tools.
  • Automation of security technologies using API and scripting technologies to link security technologies together and enable information sharing across technologies. Automated response to identified issues where necessary.
  • Design analysis and proposal of solutions to complex problems not well defined. Definition and direction of approach for successful resolution of significant technical issues.
  • Demonstration of functional knowledge of multiple technologies to implement, monitor, and maintain solutions.
  • Collaboration with multiple technical areas, including Windows and Linux operating systems, firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation and data flows, and application security concepts.
  • Mentorship of IT engineers in performing engineering work and IT engineering design analysis.
  • Supervision of lifecycle upgrades.
  • Leadership of project activities.
