Citi is a global financial institution looking for a skilled Product Control Senior Analyst to join its Finance Team. This is a unique opportunity to develop your career in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for controlling daily profit and loss reporting, balance sheet, and expenses for all business units within the Financial Controllers department. This includes Investment Banking (Debt, Equity underwriting, and M&A) and Corporate Lending products supporting Corporate and Commercial Banking clients.

You will work closely with various areas of the Finance department, including Trading desks, Risk Management, Operations, and other functions on a daily basis.

About the Job

Your primary objective will be to control and support data integrity, general ledger reconciliation, profit attribution, new activity analysis, valuation control, and product P&L and balance sheet reporting.

This is a challenging role that requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You will be working with complex data sets and developing solutions to optimize business processes.

Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for the end-to-end Banking Controllers processes, including daily P&L and Balance sheet preparation and related activities.
  • Work closely with various areas of the Finance department, liaising with the Front Office, Business Unit Managers, Bankers/Relationship managers, Risk Management, Operations, Middle Office, and IT teams.
  • Use effective escalation to ensure issues are highlighted in a timely manner. Focus on recurring issues and drive through enhancement projects and systems fixes.
  • Support standardization efforts and work on strategic as well as ad-hoc projects to improve Citi's Product Control system infrastructure and implement process improvement ideas.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert within Finance.
  • Exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
Requirements
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree required, Finance and/or Accounting degree preferred.
  • Good command of spoken and written English. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written.
  • A control-focused mind-set with strong process improvement capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge in accounting fundamentals.
  • Finance and/or Product Control/Valuation Control experience is preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
