PostgreSQL Specialist

We're seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL specialist to join our team for a large bank's payment solutions client. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on database development and optimization, as well as DBA experience.

• Maintain and optimize PostgreSQL databases for high transaction volumes.
• Collaborate with developers to implement efficient data access patterns and reduce performance bottlenecks.
• Design and implement data models to support business-critical features, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
• Perform performance monitoring and fine-tuning of database queries.
• Implement data migration strategies, ensuring seamless transitions across environments during feature releases.
• Monitor and maintain database health, including replication, backups, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Optimize database configurations to achieve cost savings on cloud infrastructure.
• Implement role-based access systems to enhance database security compliance.

We're looking for someone with 8+ years of professional experience in the database area, with a strong foundation in databases and SQL. Direct experience with PostgreSQL is also required.

• Proficient with database tuning and use of PostgreSQL tools such as PgBadger, PEM, BARMAN.
• Proficient with PostgreSQL architecture.
• Proficient with PostgreSQL networking, HBA, and connection pooling (PgBouncer, PgPool, pgCat).
• In-depth understanding of databases and knowledge of SQL.
• Working knowledge of scripting languages, BASH, KSH, Python, Perl, etc.
