About The Role

As a key member of our team, you will oversee multiple teams or one large team of Accountants responsible for conducting accounting services on behalf of assigned clients. This includes determining net expense accruals, allocating expenses, paying invoices on behalf of clients and preparing reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides oversight to multiple small teams or one large team of Accountants, ensuring timely and accurate completion of accounting tasks.
  • Manages the performance of teams and sets area priorities to drive productivity and efficiency.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with assigned clients, resolving escalated issues related to fund calculations and accounting.
  • Directs and prioritizes processes for checking the completeness and accuracy of disclosure in financial statements, providing guidance to teams to maintain accounting records according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Resolves escalated issues from team members, evaluating GAAP and/or IFRS rules to determine their impact on BNY Mellon's fund accounting practices.
  • Guides teams on implementing new policies to adhere to regulations, directing the drafting of financial reports for clients to review fund performance.
  • Communicates reports and accounting intricacies to clients, recruiting, directing, motivating, and developing staff to maximize their individual contribution, professional growth, and ability to function effectively as a team.
About You

We are seeking an experienced professional with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 7 years of total work experience and at least 3 years in management are required. Big accounting firm experience is preferred.
