We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Associate to join our team, responsible for researching and analyzing tax rules and laws applicable to ONESOURCE tax software. As a key member of our VAT team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our tax compliance software.

About the Role:

  • Research, analyze, interpret, and document tax laws and regulations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor tax statutes, regulations, legislative activity, court decisions, and publications to stay informed of changes in laws and regulations.
  • Correspond with global and local tax authorities to resolve queries and address concerns.
  • Provide recommendations on complex tax and legal issues to ensure optimal solutions.
  • Communicate complicated tax/legal issues in an understandable manner to non-tax/legal professionals.
  • Detect and rectify errors in tax data systems to maintain accuracy and prevent financial losses.
  • Conduct thorough research and provide comprehensive reports on tax-related matters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective tax strategies.

About You:

  • Possess a degree in Law, Finance, or Tax, or a related field.
  • Display a detail-oriented approach, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Have a strong interest in tax (specifically VAT) and a desire to grow your career in a tax research setting.
  • Be proficient in using online research tools and meeting deadlines.
  • Show great written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write white papers or technical tax documents.
  • Be comfortable using Microsoft Office Package (e.g., Excel, Word) and open to learning new technologies.
  • Ability to communicate confidently in English; proficiency in other languages, especially Spanish, is a plus.
