Cybersecurity Assurance Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled GRC Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team at Winged IT, a US-based cybersecurity company headquartered in New York City.

This is a remote position that requires 90% of the working time to be spent from Poland. The rate for this position is $48 per hour + VAT.

The working hours for this position will be between 15:00 and 23:00 Polish time. The cooperation model for this role is B2B, and we require the specialist to start ASAP.

The recruitment process for this position involves two to three interviews (screening and two technical interviews about 30 minutes each).

Our client is a US-based cybersecurity company whose mission is to support its clients in mitigating cyber threats. They focus on three main areas: Cyber Breach Response, Cloud Security Services, and Proactive Cyber Services.

As a GRC Cybersecurity Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining a comprehensive cyber assurance strategy aligned with business objectives;
• Establishing a framework for ongoing cybersecurity risk assessments and assurance activities;
• Collaborating with IT and security teams to ensure the integration of cyber assurance activities;
• Reporting on the effectiveness of cybersecurity controls, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations;
• Maintaining relationships with external auditors;
• Implementing cyber assurance policies and procedures;
• Staying up-to-date with emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices;

To excel in this role, you will need to possess:

• 5+ years of relevant IT and Information Security experience;
• Advanced knowledge of industry authoritative sources such as NIST, COBIT, GDPR, and ISO standards;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex regulations and apply them to business operations;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external auditors;
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple compliance initiatives simultaneously;
• Stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills;
• Proficiency in using compliance management tools and software;
• Familiarity with GRC platforms, security-related legal and regulatory requirements;
• Ability to act independently with minimal supervision;
• Strong English skills (C1).

Nice to have qualifications include:

• Prior experience in a compliance role within the information security domain;
• Professional certifications such as CISM, CISA, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor;
• Familiarity with risk management frameworks and their application to compliance activities.
