We are currently looking for a Senior Java Developer to join our team and work on a world-class payments platform. The platform connects people who rent out their homes with those looking for accommodations and operates in 191 countries, with 75 currencies, through a complex ecosystem of payments partners.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing large-scale software systems, familiarity with Java and its unit testing frameworks, and excellent debugging and optimization skills. They will also possess strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to collaborate with the engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, test, and deploy software solutions in an agile manner.
- Develop and maintain Java-based microservices with well-defined APIs that are highly reliable and scalable.
- Improve the reliability, observability, efficiency, and performance of existing systems.
- Maintain existing systems and troubleshoot issues.
- Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code, leveraging best practices and standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional partners via various communication channels.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering.
- 5+ years of industry experience in building and maintaining large-scale software systems.
- Familiarity with Service Oriented Architecture.
- Familiarity with Relational Database Management Systems.
- Any privacy product or platform-related experience is a plus.
