Job Description

Hemmersbach is seeking a German Tax Accountant Expert to join our team. As a certified accountant with expertise in VAT compliance and financial closings, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial statements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of German tax regulations and accounting standards, as well as proficiency in accounting software and reporting tools. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with German financial and tax regulations, monitoring changes in VAT legislation, and providing guidance and support to internal teams on VAT-related matters.

In this role, you will also act as the point of contact for external auditors and tax consultants, prepare and review monthly financial statements, and reconcile general ledger accounts. Additionally, you will support strategic decision-making with expert tax advice and work with the finance team to streamline monthly closing procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certified Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) or equivalent professional qualification (Steuerfachwirt / Steuerberater)
  • Proven experience in VAT compliance and monthly financial closings, preferably for German entities
  • Strong knowledge of German (HGB) and tax regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting software and reporting tools (e.g., DATEV or MS Dynamics)
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • German language - C1/C2
  • English language - B1/B2
