About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our team in processing and analyzing large-scale financial data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud-based solutions using Apache Spark and Java (Spring Boot) for processing and enriching financial event data from Kafka events.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate with multiple data sources, including gRPC services, Kafka topics, and legacy databases.
- Optimize and transition the Spark infrastructure to Cloudera Data Platform for improved scalability, reliability, and data management.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Bitbucket and Bamboo for automated testing and deployments.
- Ensure software quality through Cucumber/Gherkin-based testing and provide technical support to business teams using Jupyter Notebooks (Python + Spark) for data analysis.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in Java development, with a strong understanding of backend development and building/maintaining Java applications.
- Experience in processing large-scale event data using Spark, including data transformations and optimizations.
- Familiarity with Spring Boot for developing microservices, including dependency injection, REST APIs, and database integration.
Desirable Skills:
- OracleDB: Familiarity with relational database management, SQL queries, and schema migrations using Flyway.
- Kafka: Understanding of event-driven architectures and real-time data streaming.
- Cloudera Data Platform: Knowledge of big data infrastructure, including transitioning from on-prem Spark clusters to managed solutions.
- Kubernetes (k8s) & Docker: Understanding of containerization and orchestration for microservices deployment.
