About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our strategic data team at Tipico. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the development of our data infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Create and maintain batch and real-time data pipelines and architecture.
  2. Assemble large and complex data sets that meet our functional and non-functional business requirements.
  3. Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  4. Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, loading, and transformation of data from various data sources using SQL and AWS 'big data' technologies.
  5. Collaborate with stakeholders including data architects, executives, product, data, and IT team members from the beginning to the delivery of your projects.

Your Qualifications

  1. 3 years of relevant work experience.
  2. Cloud data services, such as AWS services as S3, Athena, EC2, EMR, AWS Batch, and Lambda.
  3. Large-scale production databases and SQL. Familiarity with large cloud DWH tools such as Redshift or Snowflake, including data modeling techniques, and handling of very large datasets.
  4. ELT. Experience with ELT development (extractions, data load, aggregation) using tools such as DBT and Airflow.
  5. Governance. Understanding and experience of data quality concepts and tools. Also, experience with using data catalog tools.
  6. Big Data. You have worked with or are familiar with big data technologies such as NIFI, Kafka, Python, Spark, and Hudi.
  7. Docker/Kubernetes. You have familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker/Kubernetes.
  8. Strong analytics skills and the ability to innovate.
  9. Fast learner. Working in a fast-paced environment requires us to learn new and complex concepts and be resourceful.
  10. Collaborative. Share your ideas and engage in our interactive discussions within our team and clearly communicate technical concepts.
