GL Controller Role

The GL Controller reports to the Europe Accounting and Reporting Manager and performs period-end closing activities in a timely manner, adhering to operational procedures, corporate standards, and local requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee General Ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Review and sign-off on relevant reporting and reconciliations, guaranteeing compliance with global standards.
  • Manage period-end closing activities, aligning with operational procedures, corporate policies, and local regulations.
  • Prepare statistical and other local reporting, providing valuable insights to stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, responding promptly to their queries.
  • Support external and internal auditors, facilitating their requests and inquiries.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and actively participate in process excellence initiatives.
  • Produce various reports and analyses as requested by senior management.
  • Address ad-hoc operational and administrative inquiries, resolving issues efficiently.
Role Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in RTR or Finance function, preferably with in-depth knowledge of general accounting processes in a multinational environment and US GAAP/IFRS accounting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to respond flexibly to customer needs, effectively managing expectations.
  • Capacity to work in a global team environment, communicating effectively with both internal business partners and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Fluency in English language.
  • Knowledge of French, Spanish, German, or Italian will be an additional advantage.
  • CPA, CIMA, ACCA, Chartered accountant, or equivalent will be an additional advantage.
