The Role

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Developer to join our team at Lumen. The primary purpose of this position is to design and develop reports that support business decision-making.

You will be involved in the entire development lifecycle, from defining requirements to architecting designs, coding reports, testing results, and producing analytics for internal use. You will have the opportunity to participate in determining the direction of new development and share knowledge with other team members.

The Main Responsibilities

What you will be doing:

  • Be involved in all aspects of the development life cycle, including requirements gathering, architecture, development, testing, training, implementation, and support of reporting applications.
  • Partner with associates in other business areas to define business needs and translate those needs into reporting system requirements.
  • Create complex SQL queries and database objects to pull and manage data.
  • Interface with other teams and departments to develop new and modify existing reporting applications.
  • Develop front-end reporting applications using Power BI.
  • Resolve data and reporting issues from business partners.
  • Provide data and programming expertise to meet internal ad-hoc data requirements.
  • Provide production support for scheduled reporting activities.

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • 5+ years of expertise in SQL development, with a strong emphasis on crafting complex queries and optimizing performance for large data sets.
  • Strong proficiency within Microsoft Azure Synapse environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with report development within a Power BI framework.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex coding issues.
  • General understanding of business analysis and requirement gathering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and individually.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Telecommunications industry experience a plus.
