Key Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

  • A graduate-level university degree in psychology (preferred specializations: clinical, school or educational, counselling, applied developmental), school counseling/social work, or any relevant mental health field.
  • Up-to-date professional licensure granted by an accredited institution or association.
  • Up-to-date background check.

In addition to these qualifications, you should have:

  • At least two years of independent work experience as a mental health provider in educational settings.
  • Experience in conducting individual counseling sessions with teens from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Working knowledge of and experience in utilizing short-term mental health interventions.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong knowledge of ethical and professional standards.
  • Experience in mental health record keeping and documentation.
  • Strong teamworking, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in working in interdisciplinary and culturally diverse teams.
  • Strong ability to utilize Microsoft Office software.
