Job Description

  • We are seeking a skilled Data Platform Engineer II to join our team at GSK, where you will be responsible for building and operating tools, services, workflows, etc that deliver high value through the solution to key business problems.
  • You will design, build, and operate hybrid on-prem/cloud compute platforms for both interactive and scalable batch computing and establish processes and workflows to transition existing HPC users and teams to this platform.
  • As a member of our team, you will ensure robustness of our services and serve as an escalation point in the operation of existing services, pipelines, and workflows.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 2-4 years experience building and testing software components that are robust, scalable, and operable, with strong experience within your area of specialty, including the tools / techniques of that area.
  • Expertise in modern software development tools / ways of working (e.g. git/GitHub, DevOps tools, metrics / monitoring).
  • Cloud expertise (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), including infrastructure-as-code tools and scalable compute technologies, such as Google Batch and Vertex.
