About the Role

The Google Cloud team is dedicated to helping companies, schools, and governments seamlessly transition to Google products and provide ongoing support. As a Technical Solutions Engineer, you will work closely with customers to understand their technical needs and provide expert guidance on how to leverage Google Cloud services to drive business success.

You will combine software development, networking, data analysis, and systems administration expertise with a strong aptitude for technical consulting, troubleshooting, and analysis. Your relationships with customers are crucial in helping Google grow its Cloud business and drive innovation across the globe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve customer technical issues, design and implement new operations, productivity, and investigation tools to increase efficiency for Technical Solutions Engineering.
  • Act as a consultant and subject-matter-expert for stakeholders in the engineering, business, and customer organizations to resolve technical deployment issues and improve the product's outlook.
  • Obtain and maintain an understanding of Google's product technology and software architectures, build in-product self-service solutions.
  • Work with multiple product and engineering teams to understand ways to improve the product and interact with our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to drive production excellence.
  • Advocate for customers by representing their issues to Product Management and Software Engineering and develop innovative ways to resolve issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience reading code (Python or C#).
  • 4 years of experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).
  • 4 years of experience triaging SaaS products, related technologies (Pantheon, Kibana, Datadog, Grafana), and REST APIs (Chrome devtools, Postman, cUrl, Swagger).
  • 4 years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customers' needs, and triaging technical issues (e.g., hardware, software, application, operational, process).
  • Ability to work non-standard working hours, including weekends, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Security such as Security+, CEH, CISM, CISSP.
  • Experience working with Linux/Unix from Kernel to Shell, file systems, and client-server protocols.
  • Experience working with customers to understand their business needs and challenges and articulating their issues internally.
  • Experience administering and troubleshooting networks, including network monitoring tools.
  • Experience writing and delivering technical training materials.
  • Understanding of web technologies (e.g., HTTP, HTML, TCP, TLS, SAML).
