Job Description

As a Cloud Engineer Lead, you will be part of our new and growing Cloud Centre of Excellence Team where you will support application and DevOps teams in translating architectural requirements into scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant designs (Native & Hybrid).

You will have a key role on guiding the application and integration teams towards market best practices and solution patterns. You will also contribute to developing and evolving the cloud platform.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support DevOps teams on architecting application and directly support our Azure Cloud environment.
  2. Translate architecture principles into detailed technical designs for native and hybrid cloud applications.
  3. Help develop an effective cloud infrastructure by providing technical oversight and ensure security best practices are implemented and followed.
  4. Translate security requirements from Security Architects into technical designs.
  5. Develop infrastructure as code on Azure using best practices and support implementations from development to production.
  6. Review design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.
  7. Cooperate with application teams to support and deliver solutions and new capabilities, driving change to develop innovative ways to resolve issues.
  8. Identify issues to specific Azure Services or the Azure Platform, and conduct in-depth diagnosis on Azure platform and services and share knowledge with other cloud engineers.
  9. Build new tools and automate to take maximum benefit of the Cloud capabilities, including automating tools for troubleshooting, diagnostics and other purposes.
  10. Cooperate with leadership on process improvement and strategic initiatives.
  11. Write and update technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, technical Standards and training materials.
Requirements:Technical Skills:
  • Proven experience in designing applications in public cloud, especially Azure.
  • Hands-on experience in governing Azure (Management Groups, Subscriptions, Azure Policies, RBAC, Landing Zones, etc.).
  • Familiar with traditional IT architectures in Distributed Systems (Virtualisation, Windows, Linux, Storage, Containers).
  • Knowledge of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks).
  • Ability to design, implement, troubleshoot and document a technical hybrid cloud solution.
  • Familiarity with software development tools like Azure DevOps and Terraform.

  • Ability to distinguish between quick wins and long-term goals. Understand what, when, and where to check to guarantee quality.
