Project Buyer Job Description

Job Summary

ENGIE Poland is seeking a highly skilled Project Buyer to join our team. As a Project Buyer, you will be responsible for steering all procurement activities throughout the stages of the project, ensuring that procurement is technically and financially able to meet the overall aims of the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate project business targets into a procurement strategy to ensure procurement is able to meet project aims.
  • Steer procurement activities throughout the project stages, ensuring that procurement is aligned with project objectives.
  • Guarantee that all Group rules and policies are correctly applied throughout the project process.
  • Help project teams to express their needs to draw up the list of project requirements.
  • Ensure risk assessments are conducted and implement corrective action plans where needed.
  • Define the project's procurement strategy or tactics based on its technical requirements, translating project targets into procurement targets.
  • Implement the procurement strategy or tactics established for the project.
  • Involve suppliers in the business development phase to get their best offers and increase ENGIE competitiveness.
  • Makes savings and increases performance by identifying ways to improve the quality of services.
  • Add competitive advantages to the procurement side of a project and thereby helps optimize the Entity's commercial offers.
  • Define negotiating tactics/directions, working with the project team.
  • Lead the selection and qualification process of suppliers to ensure the quality of services provided by suppliers and to minimize short- and medium-term procurement risk.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and decide on the contractual terms with the legal department.
  • Implement a system for the ongoing assessment of suppliers and subcontractors to guarantee the level of performance and quality of deliverables.
  • Obtain supplier intelligence.
  • Create and continuously optimize the panel of potential suppliers.
  • Identify any changes in technologies, competitors, or the economy that could affect the progress of a project, throughout its duration.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree, ideally in Engineering or Economics.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a senior buyer/project buyer in energy and utilities.
  • Demonstrable experience in project management.
  • Result-driven.
  • Multi-tasking and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize objectives and tasks.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Ability to meet scheduled and demanding timelines.
  • Good communicator.
  • Flexible.
  • Fluent in Polish and English.
  • Strong safety and environmental awareness, always taking responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues.
