Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team at Hitachi Energy Services. As a key member of our documentation team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality documentation for our Mission Critical Communication systems.

You will be part of Mariusz Kaczmarek's team, working alongside experienced colleagues from Poland and Switzerland. This collaborative environment will provide you with opportunities to grow professionally and make valuable contributions to the company.

Responsibilities
  • Create and update product documentation and descriptions independently.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Developers, and other Technical Writers to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with development teams and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to clarify feature details and specifications.
  • Lead documentation projects and take ownership of their success.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with other team members to drive collective growth.
  • Inspect features, learn about our software, and become a subject matter expert.
  • Generate and commit built-in help for Network Management System software.
  • Develop end-user targeted documentation packages and publish them on our company portal.
  • Create simple scripts for automatic GUI views capturing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in technical writing, English, Communications, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Fluent English skills, both written and spoken.
  • At least 6 years of experience in a similar role, with some experience writing for technical audiences.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills to produce clear, easy-to-read text in plain English.
  • Familiarity with international style guides for writing in English is beneficial.
  • Experience with docs-as-code workflow and ability to prepare simple code samples is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of technical writing tools (e.g., Adobe FrameMaker), content management systems, source control systems (Git), Azure DevOps.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
