Job Overview

This role is a part of our Finance team and provides essential support to lawyers in the UK region of the firm. The main focus is the control and management of Work In Progress (WIP), ensuring all matters are billed on time, in line with client requirements.

  • Conduct regular meetings with lawyers to review the ledger and ensure timely billing
  • Update a billing forecast report with comments from the meetings
  • Establish strong working relationships with lawyers and secretaries
  • Action requests from lawyers for financial information using existing reports and systems
  • Monitor WIP, billing, and activity levels, arranging meetings with Departmental Managers/ Practice Managers to discuss
  • Liaise closely with the Billing Team to issue invoices in line with partners' and clients' requirements
  • Liaise with the relevant Credit Controller for each Department
  • Provide general assistance to the Revenue Control Manager with ad hoc project work, as needed
  • Comply with the firm's policies and any other legal obligations, effectively managing risks to the firm where those relate to this role

**Key Responsibilities:**

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Financial Management

  • Managing Work In Progress (WIP) and ensuring timely billing
  • Providing financial support to lawyers in the UK region
  • Liaising with the Billing Team and Credit Controllers

Collaboration and Communication

  • Building strong relationships with lawyers and secretaries
  • Conducting regular meetings and providing updates
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders

Adaptability and Flexibility

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility in end-month, quarterly, and yearly closure processes

**Requirements:)

The ideal candidate will possess:

Professional Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in accountancy and invoicing

Language Skills:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English (B2/C1 level)

Technical Skills:

  • Very good knowledge of MS Office tools, especially Excel

Personal Qualities:

  • Positive team player and can-do attitude
  • Able to prioritize and multi-task under pressure

Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum.
