About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join the ETF Americas Research team at State Street Global Advisors as a Senior ETF Research Analyst. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing data and analytical support to the Global ETF Business, with a specific focus on competitive analysis, returns-based data and analytics, portfolio analysis, and ad hoc team support.

You will engage with all channels of the SPDR sales organization to provide thorough research and market/competitive analysis, collaborating with marketing, product, and investment strategy teams to achieve the firm's desired results. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Competitive Analysis: Produce Morningstar Side by Side comparisons, provide thoughtful reasoning and build an investment case for a client to use a SPDR ETF versus other exposures, and produce Universe comparison in Morningstar vs competition both ETF and active funds.
  • Returning Based Data and Analytics: Produce Return Based Returns reports, provide data sets to clients such as holdings, returns streams, fundamental characteristics, and other ad hoc requests.
  • Portfolio Analysis: Produce the SPDR signature Portfolio Insights and Analysis, an in-depth look into our client's portfolio construction featuring valuable insights to areas of weakness and potential risk.
  • Thought Leadership and Ad Hoc Projects: Provide though leadership content within the ETF Americas Research, analysis, white papers, commentary, and other data-oriented requests, and build automated data-feeds for monthly and quarterly updates of index comparisons documents, standard presentations, and ad hoc projects required to further business goals of the organization.
  • Requests for Proposals, Due Diligence Questionnaires (RFPs/DDQs): Complete RFPs and DDQs in regards to US SDPR ETFs, reach out to relevant stakeholders across the organization to obtain needed information.

We are looking for individuals with good numerical and analytical abilities, the ability to prioritize workload and work to tight deadlines, and the ability to use initiative, demonstrate flexibility, and think creatively to solve problems. A strong understanding of the global ETF landscape and the SPDR ETF business is also essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and computer literacy are required, although some IT skills can be acquired during training.

Education and Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is required, with more than 4 years of experience working in a financial institution or a finance-specific industry. Strong written and spoken English is essential, and previous experience with ETFs is desirable. A commitment to further study and qualifications, preferably CFA or studying for CFA designation, is also beneficial.
