We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Rockwool Group. As a key member of our Cold End Production team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechanical solutions for our production facilities worldwide.

About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineer at Rockwool Group, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from small machine deliveries to large greenfield projects. You will be responsible for managing mechanical functional equipment supply across all phases of a project, from concept study through specification and design to different tests, commissioning and after service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, identify, and control external suppliers of mechanical equipment with a large extent of automatization.
  • Analyze issues, set up requirements, and in a mechanical perspective, review technical 3D designs in AutoCad/Inventor.
  • Verify the functionality and capacity of the mechanical set-up, and likewise if automation based.
  • Assist the local Production company or Cold End projects for OPCO by running-in equipment and optimizing the process flow and offering advisory services to the organization.
  • Assess raw materials (e.g., foils) for the Cold End to ensure their capability and sustainability for new projects.
  • Document process changes and update relevant procedures and work instructions in line with the document control procedure.
  • Plan, implement, record, and report trials such as FAT and SAT for Cold deliveries to Local OPCO, including providing conclusions and summaries to relevant personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automation related field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in mechanical design and technology development or alike within automation.
  • Experience with implementing and installing equipment on production facilities.
  • Experience in making technical requirement specifications for the required equipment.
  • Proactive approach, problem-solver who plans, acts and thinks ahead.
  • Readiness to take the initiative and responsibility for all given tasks from starting point to hand over of the project.
  • Excellent communication skills, and you are fluent in English.
