Siemen Gamesa is seeking a highly skilled High Voltage Technician to join our team. As a key member of our global team, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and energization of wind turbine projects.

About the Role

The High Voltage Technician will work across all project execution environments, including preassembly, installation, and commissioning. Your responsibilities will include HV cable, terminations, testing, and commissioning of associated HV equipment, as well as energization of wind turbines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, instruct, train, and ensure safety cultures and behaviors within the role and your team.
  • Work across all project execution environments, including preassembly, installation, and commissioning.
  • Follow a period of further training and evaluation, you will also implement HV switching procedures, keeping, and maintaining accurate records and documentation of all work activities undertaken according to company policy.
  • Deliver high-quality products that meet our customers' expectations.
  • Train, mentor, and share knowledge with trainees and colleagues alike.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be electrically skilled and have the appropriate electrical industry training and qualifications.
  • Fluency in the English language, both spoken and written.
  • Wind experience is preferable but not required.
  • High voltage systems experience (not necessarily from the wind industry).
  • A minimum of two years relevant high voltage experience.
  • A background in the renewable energy industry is desirable, but not essential for a candidate with the relevant electrical background.
  • A high level of health and safety focus with experience of working with safe systems of work.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and/or on own initiative and have the ability and confidence to work at height.
  • Comfortable and experienced working in adverse weather conditions.
  • A strong communicator with proven ability to successfully interact at various levels in an organization and where necessary considering the different cultures.
  • A high level of IT literacy.
