Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our cross-functional team and contribute to the development and maintenance of a scalable, high-performance procurement platform.

The platform leverages cloud technologies, event-driven architectures, and modern development practices, ensuring an innovative and future-proof solution. As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for backend development (~80%) with basic frontend involvement (~20%). The team works in Scrum methodology and is responsible for delivering everything end-to-end into production.

The platform is used across public administration and enterprises in Europe, enabling efficient tendering and procurement processes while ensuring compliance with European regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain backend services using Java (Spring Boot)
  • Contribute to frontend development (React preferred, but Angular is welcome)
  • Work with AWS cloud technologies, including ECS, S3, RDS, and Kafka
  • Build event-driven architectures with Kafka messaging
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver project requirements
  • Ensure system reliability through debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
  • Enhance CI/CD pipelines and work in a DevOps-friendly environment
  • Participate in code reviews, PR discussions, and team retrospectives to ensure high-quality development
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) – Strong experience in building scalable applications
  • Experience with AWS Cloud services, particularly ECS, S3, RDS, and KMS
  • Familiarity with event-driven technologies, especially Kafka
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably CloudFormation
  • Competence in CI/CD pipelines, software development lifecycle, and test automation strategies
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and adaptability
  • Effective communication skills – Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment
