About Our Team

We are a highly skilled and motivated team of software engineers at Samsung R&D Institute Poland. As a member of our team, you will contribute to the development and build-out of components of Samsung's DSP platform.

You will be working closely with our local team in Warsaw, as well as collaborating with remote teams across the globe (US, Korea, India, UK) to help implement and deploy services.

Our team is responsible for building modern, well-performing services that deliver targeted ads to our users. On a daily basis, you will be collaborating with other professionals around design, implementation, and review of source code, followed by delivery of proper documentation and quality.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Design and implement backend services using Python, Ruby on Rails, and Scala.
  • Collaborate with product managers and other engineers to refine and improve data processing systems.
  • Design and maintain scalable and optimized data pipelines for efficient collection, processing, and storage of data.
  • Work with data scientists, product managers, and other engineers to refine and improve attribution methodologies.
  • Participate in R&D projects in the area of Cloud Services.
  • Establish and follow best coding practices.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Conduct A/B testing and performance analysis to validate and iterate on attribution models.
  • Ensure software quality: create and maintain unit, integration, and functional tests, participate in code review.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of commercial experience in developing Python and Scala.
  • Proficiency in data engineering (especially in projects using Hive/Spark).
  • Experience in working with Kubernetes and stream data processing frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with orchestration tools like Airflow or similar.
  • Knowledge of database technologies (Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB).
  • Good understanding of SQL and experience in optimizing SQL queries.
  • Experience in working with large datasets.
  • Experience in AWS.
  • Knowledge of protocols and data exchange formats: HTTP/1.1/2.0, RESTful API, gRPC.
  • Knowledge of Design Patterns.
  • Proficiency in English, enough to communicate and understand technical documentation.
  • University degree in Computer Sciences, Telecommunication, and/or similar.
