Vattenfall IT Services Poland is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team in Katowice or Gliwice. As a key member of our DevOps team, you will design, create, and maintain state-of-the-art analytics solutions using the MS Azure technology stack.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business needs and translate them into IT specifications;
  • Provide expert advice to various departments within Vattenfall;
  • Adapt value-adding solutions to meet the needs of other departments;
  • Design, build, and maintain data lake solutions to share data within Vattenfall and with external stakeholders;
  • Implement traditional database and DWH concepts to structure data in the cloud, on-premise, and hybrid;
  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT tracks and APIs;
  • Create and continuously develop dashboards in PowerBI;
  • Work with streaming data analytics together with business stakeholders;
  • Collaborate with architects, requirement engineers, data scientists, and business specialists in DevOps teams.

Requirements:

  • Experience with Analytics & BI tools and services, preferably in the MS Azure stack (e.g., Synapse workspaces and dedicated SQL pools, SQL Database, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Databricks, Data Factory, Analysis Services, Function Apps, Power BI, ML);
  • A technical background with an understanding of how analytics solutions are brought into life by means of Python, SQL, C#, PowerShell;
  • Familiarity with CI / CD, testing, and version control (e.g., Azure DevOps, ARM, GIT or similar);
  • Familiarity with Data Warehousing and Data modeling concepts;
  • An understanding of IT Architecture guidelines & principles (e.g., TOGAF) and on-premise, cloud, and hybrid architectural patterns;
  • Experience working agile;
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English;
  • Ideal candidates have a good understanding of utility business processes and their IT landscape (SAP ERP, IAM, EAM, SCADA, infrastructure and security regulations like GDPR).
