We are seeking a Process Improvement Consultant to join our team at BorgWarner. As a Process Improvement Consultant, you will be responsible for analyzing systems/software process deployments, identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing solutions to enhance our engineering processes.

You will work closely with our IT group to establish corporate standard tool set strategies and adapt our enterprise-wide tool landscape to meet the needs of our business units. Additionally, you will develop and monitor systems/software process metrics to verify the effective use of implemented tools.

We are looking for an individual with demonstrated Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or Software Quality Assurance competency, as well as good written and oral communication skills and good interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using tools from one or more of the following tool domains is also essential: ALM, PLM, BPM, Requirements Management, Configuration Management, Work Product Reviews, Tool Integration, Cybersecurity, or Functional Safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze systems/software program requirements and develop solutions
  2. Collaborate with the BorgWarner IT group in establishing corporate standard tool set strategies
  3. Adapt the BorgWarner IT enterprise-wide tool landscape to the PDS business unit use case
  4. Develop and monitor systems/software process metrics to verify/validate effective and usage of implemented tools
  5. Align tool selection, development, and configuration to optimally meet systems/software process requirements
  6. Develop and maintain tool development roadmap for assigned process areas
  7. Confirm the compliance of tools to ISO26262 (Functional Safety) and ISO21434 (Cybersecurity) requirements
  8. Improve tool solutions based on lessons learned and evolving best practices
  9. Develop customized tool kits to meet customer-specific program requirements
  10. Proactively analyze systems/software process deployments, identifies opportunities for improvement and develops solutions
  11. Use demonstrated systems/software experience and lessons learned to drive engineering project teams to achieve their quality goals and leads project teams in the usage of PDS evolving Methods and Tools
  12. Develop training curriculum and transfers knowledge of the BorgWarner EDF process, roles, and responsibilities to the engineering teams.
