About the Job

The Cloud Consulting Professional Services team at Google guides customers through their cloud journey, helping businesses thrive. We assist customers in transforming and evolving their business through the use of Google's global network, web-scale data centers, and software infrastructure.

As a Security Consultant specializing in detection engineering and SOAR, you will provide expert technical guidance to customers adopting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. You will focus on building and optimizing security operations capabilities, implementing advanced threat detection, and automating incident response. Your expertise will ensure customers achieve robust security postures and efficient security workflows within their GCP environments.

Responsibilities
  • You will work with customer development leads, client executives, and partners to manage and deliver successful cloud security architectures, serving as a cloud security and compliance subject matter expert and a trusted advisor to decision makers throughout the engagement.
  • You will collaborate with internal specialists, Product, and Engineering teams to package approaches, best practices, and lessons learned into thought leadership, methodologies, and published assets.
  • You will interact with Sales, Partners, and customer technical stakeholders to manage project scope, priorities, deliverables, risks and issues, and timelines for successful client outcomes.
  • You may travel approximately 30% of the time for client engagements as needed.
Requirements
  • You should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • You should have 6 years of experience architecting, developing, or maintaining secure cloud solutions.
  • You should have experience with network security, data security and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • You should have experience with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platforms.
  • You should have experience managing internal or external customer-facing projects to completion while working with cross functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • You should have experience in Cloud Security delivered within the context of customer-facing roles.
  • You should have experience securing Google Cloud or other cloud environments.
  • You should have experience in security architecture or security engineering.
  • You should have experience understanding attacks and mitigation methods, in two or more of the following: network protocols and secure network design; web application security, security assessments and pen testing, authentication and access control, applied cryptography and security protocols, security monitoring and intrusion detection, Incident response and forensics, development of security tools, automation or frameworks.
  • You should have excellent communication, written, presentation and problem-solving skills.
