We are seeking a highly experienced Global VAT and Sales Tax Lead to join our team at Verifone. In this role, you will be responsible for managing global indirect tax compliance, including VAT/GST/DST and U.S. Sales Tax, in a diverse and multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage local and indirect tax needs, supporting the business team in new Merchant on-boarding and ensuring indirect tax compliance.
- Prepare and file sales & use tax, VAT/GST/DST, and other indirect tax returns, 1099s, and similar regimes with 3rd party providers.
- Handle monthly sales tax accruals and month end reconciliations.
- Oversee tax audits, responding to auditors' requests in a timely manner and defending the company's tax positions through technical research.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing global indirect tax compliance in a diverse and multinational environment.
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field, CPA or JD required.
- Experience with Oracle preferred.
- Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills with a great sense of humor.
- Must be a quick learner and able to work independently.
