Data Analytics Platform Architect

The Data Analytics Platform Architect plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining the robust infrastructure that supports the organization's data analytics initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and analytics tools to ensure optimal performance, data flow processes, and adherence to development standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop the platform architecture for data analytics, including data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics tools.
  • Design and support data source integration development and optimizations of data flow processes to ensure efficient data ingestion, transformation, and delivery to analytics consumers.
  • Monitor and optimize platform performance to meet evolving business needs and minimize query latency.
  • Establish and maintain guidelines and best practices for development teams working on the platform, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Conduct regular technical checks of solutions provided by development teams to ensure compliance with standards and identify potential issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and implement optimizations for the platform, including capacity planning, performance tuning, automation, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Provide technical consultations to development teams on platform usage, best practices, and troubleshooting.
  • Review code developed by teams to ensure compliance with standards, identify potential issues, and recommend improvements.
  • Work closely with functional teams to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical specifications for the platform.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data analytics to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics platform architecture and development.
  • Strong technical expertise in data warehousing, data lakes, and analytics tools.
  • Experience with cloud platforms: Azure, DataBricks or others.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other relevant programming languages.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and data governance principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with data virtualization and data federation technologies.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Experience with data quality and data profiling tools.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer).
