In Vivo Department Lead

At Selvita, we are seeking an experienced In Vivo Department Lead to join our team in Kraków, Poland.
About the RoleThis is a challenging opportunity for a motivated scientist to lead our In Vivo Department and contribute to oncology drug discovery projects. As an In Vivo Department Lead, you will be responsible for planning and executing experiments, designing disease-relevant in vivo models, and leading studies supporting pre-clinical discovery and early development projects.
Responsibilities- Planning and executing experiments, including mice handling, injections, blood collections, and performing/assisting in in vivo imaging and biochemical/hematological blood analysis, post-mortem examination, and samples collection.
- Designing and developing disease-relevant in vivo models.
- Leading in vivo studies supporting pre-clinical discovery and early development projects.
- Data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Preparing scientific reports.
- Preparing documents for ethical committees and regulatory agencies.
- Operating diagnostic and imaging equipment.
- Maintaining records related to animal care in facility management software.
- Ensuring and monitoring animal health and welfare in collaboration with the animal welfare officer.
- Necropsy, tissue, and fluid collections.
- Rodent surgical skills, pre-surgical and post-surgical care, and monitoring.
- Closely collaborating with other scientists and technicians.
- Supporting drug discovery projects to meet their objectives.
- A higher education in a relevant field, preferably Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or other related scientific disciplines.
- Practical in vivo experience and experimental skills in the use of animal models, preferably in the field of oncology.
- Experience in the drug discovery and development process is desired but not required.
- A very good level of English.
- Possession of a certificate on carrying out procedures on animals, designing procedures and projects, taking care of animals, and killing animals (FELASA functions A, B, C, and D) compliant with Polish regulations.
- Ability to work independently as a highly motivated scientist while being part of a team and develop ideas by incorporating the views of others.
- Well-organized, precise, task-oriented, and dexterous tinkerer.

- Understanding of statistical methods and quality control, including data reporting and archiving.
- No symptoms of allergies against rodents.
