About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Allegro sp. z o.o. as a key member of our Development Environments team.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our cutting-edge Development Environments product, which enables our developers to spin up isolated copies of Allegro with a single push of a button.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable, efficient, and reliable software solutions for our Development Environments product.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize features, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
  • Develop and maintain in-house tools tailored to Allegro's unique needs, automating tasks and integrating with existing systems.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure smooth deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of our Development Environments product.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensure adherence to clean code principles, and advocate for best practices in software development.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software development, and contribute to the growth and development of the team.
Requirements
  • Strong programming foundation in Java and/or Kotlin, with experience in developing custom solutions, automating tasks, and integrating with existing systems.
  • Experience with database management, including Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis, and ability to monitor database performance and health.
  • Basic knowledge of Puppet and scripting languages (bash, Python, Go), with experience in automating host management and monitoring.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment, with strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and infrastructure management is a plus.
