At HSBC Service Delivery, we're on the lookout for a seasoned expert to take on the role of Cybersecurity Data Acquisition Engineer - Technical Lead. As a key member of our Platform & Data Engineering Team, you'll play a crucial part in driving our data engineering and cloud infrastructure strategies forward.

Job Overview:

We're seeking an accomplished technical professional with a strong background in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and platform operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping our approach to data acquisition, ensuring seamless integration of disparate sources, and delivering high-quality data assets to support our cybersecurity use cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ingestion and provisioning of raw datasets, enriched tables, and curated data assets to meet Cybersecurity requirements
  • Driving improvements in data ingestion reliability and frequency, including increasing real-time coverage
  • Designing and implementing scalable data pipelines to collect data from various sources, transport it, and deliver it to our data platform
  • Developing Extract Translate and Load (ETL) workflows using advanced data manipulation tools and programmatically manipulating data throughout the data flow
  • Identifying and onboard data sources using existing schemas and exploring new schemas as needed

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess:

  • Programming experience in PowerShell, Terraform, Python, Windows command prompt, and object-oriented programming languages
  • Demonstrable experience in Linux administration and scripting, preferably with Red Hat Systems
  • Understanding of hardware and software principles, storage technologies (SSD, HDD, NVMe), CPU architectures, and Memory & Operating system principles, especially network stack fundamentals
  • Technical knowledge and breadth of Azure technology services (Identity, Networking, Compute, Storage, Web, Containers, Databases)
  • Experience with Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) and Security Orchestration, Automation & Response (SOAR) technologies, especially cloud-based solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering field or equivalent experience in data, technology, and/or programming
