This position offers a unique chance to join a matrix organization and become a key player in our Record to Report (RTR) team, responsible for General Ledger activities. Leveraging a combination of professional, practical, and analytical skills, you will significantly impact the organization of the RTR structure and optimize its processes.

The team consists of approximately 30 local members, collaborating closely with outsourced operations in India (VELUX Finance Operations) to take a holistic view of results and maintain customer orientation (service excellence). You will ensure that accounting issues from both group and local perspectives are assessed, monitored, and resolved efficiently.

You will be responsible for end-to-end processes and act as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leading the RTR team (3 TLs and 20+ Specialists): Hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
  2. Overseeing operational reporting within the RTR scope
  3. Year-end closing activities: Preparation, oversight, and support
  4. Delivering workpapers and reconciliations: Timely and accurately, taking ownership of necessary corrections in other ledgers
  5. Ensuring successful delivery of services related to VELUX In-house Bank (internal treasury)
  6. Intercompany process ownership: Facilitating deliveries from VELUX Finance Operations with actions performed within the finance function
  7. Delivering relevant accounting reports and analysis
  8. Assisting with internal and external financial and compliance audits
  9. Running operational metrics to monitor performance
  10. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, process changes, and leading practices for efficient and effective processes
  11. Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure smooth operations
  12. Escalating and resolving issues as appropriate
  13. Providing assessments on the accounting treatment for complex transactions and participating in projects

Approximately 20 days of travel per year can be expected.

Requirements:
  • Proven ability to lead and develop diverse teams, manage projects, and influence stakeholders
  • 7+ years of relevant accounting experience in a BPO or shared service role, including running operations within a multinational company as a leader of leaders
  • ACCA/CIMA and other accounting qualifications are an asset
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience with operations and processes within the area of Record to Report
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
  • Very good knowledge of SAP ERP and intermediate proficiency with the Office 365 suite
  • Positive attitude towards change and a proven track record of supporting operational excellence initiatives
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity with a constructive and positive approach
  • Excellent communication and networking skills to engage and influence multiple functions and stakeholders
