We're seeking a skilled freelance Senior Java Developer to join our team at intent, a software house that acts as a specialized think partner for products at the intersection of physical and digital. Our clients include Oura, BOSE, and McIntosh audio systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and deploy Java-based applications with JavaFX as the UI framework.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, Quality Assurance (QA) professionals, and Project Managers (PMs) to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Design and implement touch-enabled user interfaces for desktop applications.
- Work with local databases such as SQLite, H2, or other embedded databases for handling data storage within applications.
- Implement local authentication mechanisms and interact with external hardware components through libraries.
- Build applications that run in kiosk mode on Linux, optimized for touch-only interactions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
- Use Git for version control, including branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in Java, experience with JavaFX, good command of written and spoken English (B2).
- Expert-level proficiency in Java, with a strong grasp of object-oriented principles, design patterns, and best practices.
