Job Profile:

COWI seeks an experienced Environmental Biology Specialist to join our environmental services team. This role requires a highly skilled professional with expertise in biodiversity and environmental impact assessments.

About the Role:

  • You will work closely with colleagues from Sweden and globally, both independently and under supervision, on biodiversity and environmental impact assessments.
  • As a Biology specialist, you will be responsible for conducting field surveys, gathering data, and analyzing ecological connectivity using GIS software.
  • Your primary goal will be to create solutions that enable a better tomorrow by collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to innovative project ideas.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work independently and under supervision on biodiversity and environmental impact assessments.
  2. Conduct field surveys, gather data, and analyze ecological connectivity using GIS software.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate innovative project ideas.
  4. Develop and implement solutions that enable a better tomorrow.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Botany, Ecology, or Zoology.
  2. 1-5 years of experience in biodiversity survey field work in northern Europe will be an asset.
  3. Technical proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, Qgis, and InDesign are preferred.
  4. Familiarity with environmental analysis, including spatial analysis, habitat suitability, and connectivity modeling, will be advantageous.
  5. Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required.
  6. Analytical skills, ability to undertake business trips abroad, and a driving license are essential.
