Site Reliability Engineering Lead

At Google, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible with technology. As a Site Reliability Engineering Lead, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, uptime, and performance of our cloud infrastructure. You'll work closely with our engineering teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable, fault-tolerant systems that meet the needs of our users.
With a strong background in software development and systems engineering, you'll be responsible for managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You'll also design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions to meet the evolving needs of our business.
As a key member of our Technical Infrastructure team, you'll have the opportunity to work on complex challenges that require innovative solutions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize projects, and you'll be responsible for ensuring that our systems are designed and implemented with scalability, reliability, and performance in mind.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable, fault-tolerant systems that meet the needs of our users.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize projects, and ensure that our systems are designed and implemented with scalability, reliability, and performance in mind.
- Develop and maintain software solutions to meet the evolving needs of our business.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with programming in one or more programming languages.
- 2 years of experience working with Unix/Linux systems internals and administration (e.g. filesystems, inodes, system calls) or networking (e.g. TCP/IP, routing, network topologies and hardware, SDN).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in computing, distributed systems, storage, or networking.
- Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- Ability to debug, optimize code, and to automate routine tasks.
- Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills.
