About the Role:

Remitly is revolutionizing global financial services with a robust platform that empowers product teams to deliver their goals. As a Data Engineer, you'll be part of the Data Infrastructure Engineering team, responsible for designing and developing a data platform and its integrations. You'll work closely with other teams to establish data interfaces and contracts, ensuring seamless data flow and quality.

The team is based in Cracow and collaborates with the US-based Data Infrastructure team. You'll report directly to the Cracow-based Engineering Manager.

You Will:
  • Design and develop a data platform, including architectural changes and migrations.
  • Implement features and work with business-critical pipelines to bring value to customers.
  • Act as a point of contact for data-layer problems during production incidents.
You Have:
  • Hands-on experience with database systems, with a strong understanding of operational and warehouse databases.
  • Experience designing and maintaining cloud-based database systems in AWS or another cloud platform.
  • Proficiency in a programming language, with the ability to dive into code to fix bugs or improve data integrations.
  • Ownership of solving difficult challenges, with a focus on improving performance and finding opportunities for improvement.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and business teams.
