Sigma Software: Seeking a Data Engineering Expert

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Sigma Software. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data architecture and pipelines.

Your primary focus will be on working closely with clients and stakeholders to clarify technical requirements and expectations. You will also be responsible for implementing architectures based on Azure Cloud platforms, designing and developing data models, and contributing to the evaluation of new tools for analytical data engineering.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from data warehousing and ETL to data governance and data analytics. You will be part of a collaborative team that values teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in data engineering and cloud computing services solutions, with a preference for Azure.
  • Conceptual knowledge of data analytic fundamentals, including dimensional modeling, ETL, reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing, and structured and unstructured data.
  • Knowledge of SQL and experience with at least one programming language, such as Python.
  • Excellent communication skills and business fluency in English.
  • Understanding of Big Data DBs like Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.
  • Experience in database development and data modeling, ideally with Databricks/Spark.
  • Experience in pre-sales activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving results and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong passion for learning and practicing new techniques.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Subject matter expertise in a specific domain, such as Logistics, Aviation, or Sustainability.
  • Experience with Infra as code (Terraform or similar).
  • Good communication skills in German.
