About the role:

The Senior Data Engineer will lead the development of scalable and robust data solutions using GCP services, particularly BigQuery and BigQuery SQL. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively, and mentor junior engineers.

  • The successful candidate will work with global clients to design and implement software systems and best practices for scalable and robust data solutions.
  • Engineering data platforms for scale, performance, reliability, and security will be a key responsibility.
  • Integrating data sources and optimizing data processing require expertise in data engineering.
  • The role demands proactive problem-solving, effective communication, and continuous learning.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and aligning data systems with business needs are critical aspects of this position.
Your profile:
  • Availability to start immediately is a must.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior developer role with hands-on experience in data processing pipeline development is required.
  • Proficiency with GCP services, especially BigQuery and BigQuery SQL, for large-scale data processing and optimization is essential.
  • Extensive experience with Apache Airflow, including DAG creation, triggers, and workflow optimization is also required.
  • Data partitioning, batch configuration, and performance tuning for terabyte-scale processing knowledge is necessary.
  • Strong Python proficiency with expertise in modern data libraries and frameworks is required.
  • Experience with unit testing, pre-commit checks, and strict type enforcement for data pipelines is necessary.
  • Deep understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modelling, and data warehousing concepts is also required.
  • Excellent command of oral and written English is necessary.
